God

There is only one true God.
He is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is eternal and co-exists equally in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We learn about God through His creation, His Word and His Son.
God loves us more than we can imagine.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God. Co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit, He came to earth and became man to show God's love by dying on a cross, paying the penalty that our sins deserve in our place. He was dead for three days and then he rose from the grave, conquering death and claiming eternal life for everyone who believes in Him. Jesus wants to have a relationship with every person.

The Church

The Church is made up of everyone who has chosen to follow Jesus. The Church is not a building or one particular group of believers. God wants us to gather regularly to worship Jesus, to use our gifts in service to Him and to love and encourage others. The Church also exists to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world. NMC is committed to being a vibrant and active part of God's Church.

Eternity

God created us with a soul that will never cease to exist. Those who choose to follow Jesus will spend eternity with God in Heaven. Those who reject Jesus by refusing to follow Him will spend eternity in Hell. Heaven and Hell are real places.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with God the Father and God the Son. He dwells in each member of God's family as a Helper and Guide. He helps us realize our need for salvation. At the point of salvation, the Holy Spirit comes to live in our physical bodies as His home. He provides help to do what is right, strength to serve Jesus, and direction for living life God's way.

The Bible

The Bible is God's written, inspired Word. The Word of God is without error and is truth. It tells us who God is, why He loves us, and what His plans are for us. The Bible is the authority or standard for living our lives according to God's will for us.

Psalm 19:7-11; Psalm 119:105John 17:171 Thessalonians 2:132 Timothy 3:16-172 Peter 1:20-21

Salvation

Everyone sins by disobeying God's law. Sin separates us from God because God is perfect and sin is not. It is impossible to cover up sin by being a good person, doing good things, or by going to church. When Jesus died on the cross, His blood was the price for our sin. When He rose again, He conquered death for us too. We accept the gift of salvation through obedient trust in Jesus. Repentance, confession, immersion, and living as a servant of God are all part of our faithful obedience to Christ. The result of accepting the gift of salvation is forgiveness of sin and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
